Knocked over on Pelican Crossing
On a Sunday afternoon in December 2014 Ms G, a primary teacher, was making her way home. She utilised a staggered Pelican Crossing in order to safely cross Glasgow Road. Ms G had made her way across the west bound carriageway and as she entered the central reservation, the green man was activated for her to cross over the eastbound carriageway.
Ms G had passed the stationary car waiting in the outside lane when the vehicle in the inside lane started to move off. The vehicle collided with Ms G causing her to fall to the ground. As a result of the fall, Ms sustained injury to her chest and right knee.
We were instructed to act on her behalf to recover compensation for her injuries. A claim was submitted to the driver’s insurance company and liability was admitted early on.
Thankfully, she was able to make a full recovery from her injuries within a period of 5 months.
Following an assessment by a medical consultant, the claim was settled in the sum of £3,000. It took 6 months from the date of the collision to Ms G receiving her settlement figure.
